Toyota (Australia) telah mengkonfirmasi  bahwa  mobil sport toyota versi FT-86 II concept akan dijual di Australia dalam waktu dua tahun mendatang.

 
Eksekutif senior Toyota Australia direktur penjualan dan pemasaran, David Büttner, menegaskan produksi sport coupe akan mulai tahun depan, dan pengiriman mobil tersebut ke Australia akan dimulai baik di akhir 2012 atau pada semester pertama tahun 2013.

Toyota FT-86 II Konsep,  memulai debutnya awal tahun ini di Geneva Motor Show, akan menjadi daya tarik utama dari kehadiran Toyota di International Motor Show 2011 Australia, yang dimulai di Melbourne pada tanggal 1 Juli

 

Mr Buttner said the local unveiling of the FT-86 II concept and the launch of the production model was designed to generate excitement around the Toyota brand in Australia.

Mr Büttner mengatakan pembukaan Toyota  konsep II FT-86 dan peluncuran model produksi yang telah dirancang untuk menghasilkan keberhasilan di Australia.

    “FT-86 II pays homage to Toyota’s illustrious sports car history that includes cars such as the Supra, MR2 and 2000GT,” Mr Buttner said.

    “It heralds a compact, rear-drive production car with the style, performance and handling demanded by those who regard driving as a passion rather than a necessity.”

Konsep FT-86 II menggunakan front-mount mesin Boxer, enam kecepatan transmisi manual, serta sifat ringan dan aerodinamis dikembangkan dari teknologi Formula 1.

Dimensi mobil ini sendiri : 4235mm panjang, 1795mm lebar, tinggi dan 1270mm dengan wheelbase 2570mm, jika dilihat FT-86 II mirip dalam proporsi dengan Nissan 370Z. Versi produksi Toyota kemungkinan tidak se powerfull daripada Nissan tetapi harga akan lebih terjangkau.

Audi A1 e-Tron

Audi's new compact car that was carrying the electrical machine, the Audi A1 e-Tron will eventually be tested roads around Munich, Germany, to determine the reliability when used daily.

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe is the first vehicle to receive the highest possible five-star score in every individual segment of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program since the federal testing procedures were revised for 2011.²

“Camaro has always been about performance and that includes safety performance,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “We always strive for five-star ratings and the fact that we achieved them under more rigorous requirements is a great accomplishment.”

The NHTSA recently raised the bar by revising their testing procedures for 2011. The six categories that Camaro performed exceptionally in include frontal barrier crash testing for the driver and passenger, side crash ratings for the driver and passenger, a rollover rating, and the vehicle’s overall rating. The stricter NHTSA testing regulations have been revamped to focus on crash avoidance technologies and safety feature performance.
